MMC Commentary: This paper was mostly completed and was presented by Mr. Davis McCarn at the Lister Hill Center for Biomedical Communications. The paper dealt with the use of citation index analysis of medical literature and also included information about the evaluation of MEDLARS by Wilf Lancaster. This is the final draft of the presentation. It is about the pioneering work that was being done by the research activities at the National Library of Medicine.
