MMC Commentary: The Medical Library Assistance Act of 1965 had just been signed by President Johnson. The Medical Library Assistance Act was designed to boost medical communication over a five-year period and would to help build and renovate health science libraries, train library personnel, and help develop a network of regional medical libraries and provide an upgrade of MEDLARS.
