MMC Commentary: This speech was important because it presented an analysis of how the National Library of Medicine used $41,000,000 acquired through the Medical Library Assistance Act to assist in the improvement of medical library services to physicians and educators and scientists throughout the country. It was a five-year report which allowed the medical librarians of the nation to see how they had benefited from this important legislation.
