Abstract: Dr. Chauncey Leake received his Ph.D. degree in physiology and pharmacology. Throughout his career as a researcher, teacher, and administrator, Dr. Leake maintained an interest in the history of medicine and medical ethics. Collection consists chiefly of general correspondence relating to individuals as well as to organizations, the latter consisting of associations, societies, foundations, conferences and congresses, and clubs.

Abstract: Lederberg (1925-2008) was winner of the 1958 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Tatum and George W. Beadle "for his discoveries concerning genetic recombination and the organization of the genetic material of bacteria", professor of genetics at Stanford University, president of Rockfeller University, and public servant to presidents, national groups and governmental organizations.

Abstract: Correspondence, reports, manuscripts, photographs, and slides relating primarily to Lembcke's projects with Eleanor Poland, Ph.D., from whom the material was acquired. They reflect Lembcke's interest in and research on medical auditing, epidemiology, preventive medicine, and the regional organizations of hospitals in the United States and Sweden. Most extensive are the records relating to the research conducted by Lembcke and Poland for Community Studies, Inc., on Kansas hospitals and health care delivery.
