Collection Scope and Content Note

Consists of approximately 125 items, including papers and photos relating to the history of the U.S. Public Health Service, 1933-1963. Correspondents include Eddie M. Gordon, Harry S. Mustard, Kenneth R. Nelson, and Wilson T. Sowder. Photos include portraits of physicians working with the Public Health Service. Williams wrote a history of the PHS titled The United States Public Health Service, 1798-1950 (Washington, D.C., 1951).
