Scope Note: One of a series of interviews with persons involved with the passage of the Kefauver-Harris Amendments of 1962 to the Food and Drug Act.
Biographical Note: Mr. Rankin joined the Food and Drug Administration in 1939. In 1964 he became assistant commissioner for legislation and Planning. He later became deputy commissioner and, in 1969, retired from his post as special assistant to the assistant secretary for health and scientific affairs.
