Scope Note:	Interview concerns the enforcement of the Insecticide Act of 1910 and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act of 1947. Among the individuals, institutions, and legislative acts mentioned are Edward L. Griffin, the Dept. of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act of 1938.
Biographical Note:	Mr. Cromartie was an inspector with the Department of Agriculture and assigned to the Food and Drug Administration in 1931. From 1945 until his retirement, in 1966, he was an administrator of enforcement and inspection with the Insecticide Division of the Dept. of Agriculture.
