Scope Note: An autobiographical memoir which includes descriptions of the institutions, research, and individuals important in Dr. Hastings' career. Among the persons and institutions mentioned in the interview are James B. Conant, Franklin C. McLean, Donald D. Van Slyke, the University of Chicago, the Harvard Medical School, the Rockefeller Institute, the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, the U.S. Office of Scientific Research and Development, the U.S. Public Health Service, and the National Institutes of Health.
Biographical Note: Dr. Hastings was Hamilton Kuhn Professor of Biological Chemistry at the Harvard Medical School from 1935-1958.
